Felix Schoeller North America Expansion Project on Track for Completion Later This Summer
Felix Schoeller North America (FSNA), a leading manufacturer of high-quality specialty papers and engineered products, announced recently during a tour event of the facility with County of Oswego Industrial Development Agency (COIDA) representatives and NYS Assembly Minority Leader William Barclay that their expansion is moving forward on schedule and completion is on track for August 2023. The event was organized to show off the progress of the expansion project by FSNA, which is investing over $20 million in a new coating operation in Pulaski, NY. The project includes enhancements to existing facilities as well as the acquisition of advanced manufacturing equipment for the production of siliconized release liners. The result will allow Felix Schoeller to onshore the manufacture of silicone coated paper and films, develop innovative new products, and better serve its growing customer base in North America and beyond.
Construction and equipment installation for the investment project began in November 2022, with completion anticipated by August 2023. Once completed, the expanded facilities will position FSNA as a leading innovator in the specialty paper and release liner industry, while also contributing to the economic prosperity of Oswego County, particularly in the Pulaski area.
The project was supported by financial assistance approved last fall by the COIDA in the form of a PILOT agreement. In return for the financial assistance, FSNA committed to making a significant investment in developing new product lines that will diversify and enhance its production capabilities in the region and the creation of new jobs. This strategic partnership with COIDA demonstrates the company’s commitment to fostering economic growth and supporting the Pulaski area.
“Securing assistance from the IDA is a testament to the strong partnership between our company and the local community,” said Michael Szidat, CEO of Felix Schoeller North America. “This investment will not only enable us to expand our manufacturing capabilities and product offerings but also to create new, high-quality job opportunities for the residents of Oswego County.”
“The County of Oswego IDA is proud to partner with Felix Schoeller on this project,” said Austin Wheelock, CEO of COIDA. “We are thrilled to help facilitate FSNA’s growth in Pulaski and to support the retention and creation of jobs in Oswego County.
The assistance provided by the COIDA will help to support the creation of 30 new jobs and retain 145 existing jobs at FSNA over the next 5 years. FSNA is committed to hiring and training local talent, offering competitive wages and benefits, and providing employees with opportunities for growth and professional development.
