We want to share information with you regarding a labor action scheduled at our campus next week. Teamsters Local 2010, which represents skilled trades employees, has announced plans for a potential strike at all 22 California State University campuses from February 17 through February 20, 2026.
If a strike occurs, our campus will remain open, and classes, instruction, and student services will continue. We remain fully committed to supporting your academic progress and ensuring that you have access to the resources and services you need. At the same time, we respect the rights of our employees as this process moves forward.
Classes will continue as scheduled, and facilities such as the University Union, Library, and other student service centers will remain open and operational. Students living in residence halls will continue to receive all regular housing and dining services.
You may see picket lines at some campus entrances during this time. We understand that students may have different levels of comfort in these situations. You are permitted to cross a picket line to access campus, or you may choose to use an entrance where no picketing is occurring. You are not required to provide your name or any personal information to anyone on a picket line.
We do not anticipate any issues related to strike activity. However, if you experience harassment or have concerns while entering or moving about campus, please contact please contact University Labor and Employee Relations at elr@csus.edu so the situation can be addressed promptly. If you have general questions related to strike activity or campus operations, you may contact University Labor and Employee Relations at elr@csus.edu or (916)278-6169.
Our priority is, and will remain, your education and success. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to ensure continuity of learning and campus life during this period. Updates and additional information will be shared as appropriate.
Sincerely,
