Important Weather Update for Commencement Ceremonies

Dear Stevens Graduates and Families,

As we approach our upcoming Commencement ceremonies, we want to inform you of some adjustments we're making due to the forecasted inclement weather. While we are proceeding with both ceremonies as scheduled at PNC Bank Arts Center on Wednesday, May 21, we've made the following modifications to ensure everyone's comfort, safety and overall experience:

Undergraduate Ceremony Changes

To prevent graduates from standing in the rain for an extended period, there will be no formal student processional
Undergraduate graduates will instead be seated at the venue at the beginning of the ceremony
All other ceremonial elements, including walking across the stage to receive diplomas, will continue as planned
Important: All call times for undergraduate students remain unchanged; graduates and guests must arrive by 8 a.m.

Graduate Ceremony

The Graduate Ceremony will proceed as originally planned with no changes to the format
All call times and procedures for graduate students remain the same; graduates and guests must arrive by 2 p.m.

Weather Preparedness for All Attendees

We strongly encourage attendees with lawn seats to consider watching the ceremony via our livestream at stevensducks.tv
All guests should come prepared for inclement weather conditions
Ponchos and raincoats are highly recommended and will provide the best protection while maintaining visibility for others
One small personal umbrella per person is permitted, but please be mindful not to obstruct the view of those seated around you
Large umbrellas and tents are not permitted

Reminder: The ceremonies will continue rain or shine on Wednesday, so please dress appropriately for the weather conditions. The covered seating area will provide some protection, but we recommend weather-appropriate attire regardless of your seating location.

We understand that weather conditions may not be ideal for this special day, and we appreciate your understanding as we make these adjustments. Our primary goal remains to create a meaningful and memorable celebration of your achievements while ensuring everyone's comfort and safety to the greatest extent possible.

The livestream option remains available for any family members or friends who prefer to watch from a warm, dry location: stevensducks.tv
