Happy Friday Snow School!
Thank you all for your incredible hard work over the past week. It’s been a wet one out there, and your professionalism, resilience, and positive energy have not gone unnoticed. After days of rain, it was amazing to finally see the sun shine today in the valley, albeit briefly. It was an uplifting reminder of what makes spring skiing so special.
As we head into the weekend, here’s a quick conditions update. Our Patrol team has been working tirelessly to reopen the alpine after being locked out for much of the past week. This is a significant undertaking, and we anticipate some delays in opening this weekend as Patrol continues the important work required to safely access that terrain. We appreciate everyone’s patience and support as this effort continues. With a noticeable temperature drop overnight, expect firm conditions from restaurant level down as surfaces freeze. For those attending AM Session tomorrow, sharpen those edges!
We’re also pleased to share that we’re planning to reopen Peak Chair this weekend following the recent rockslide. There will be terrain closures associated with the slide that are expected to remain in place for the rest of the season. As always, it’s critical that we respect and obey all posted signs and closures to keep everyone safe.
Looking ahead, we still have a strong two weeks from a business perspective with Spring Break and Easter on the horizon. Thank you for continuing to show up for our guests and for each other. As we start to look toward summer, stay safe out there and enjoy the turns!

SCHEDULING:
SPRING PRIVATES
| |
**PLEASE READ**
SPRING PRIVATES
Team,
As we prepare for the final stretch of the season, we want to share important updates regarding Private Lesson operations after April 19th.
Spring Business Outlook
Due to the early Easter holiday period, we are anticipating lower business volume after April 19th. As a result, we will be making targeted adjustments to how the Snow School operates Spring Privates.
Private Lesson Booking Requirements
- Spring Private products will not be available for booking to ‘general public’ for this year
- All Private Lessons offered between April 19th and May 3rd (last day for all Private lessons) are for returned Guests only with no exceptions and will remain at regular season pricing ($1255 +tax).
- All lesson bookings must be Full-Day (10am - 4pm): No Half-Day products will be offered
- Any Private Lesson taking place after April 19th must be fully booked and entered into our system prior to April 19th
- Pros will be able to book additional lessons after April 19th if their guests decide to add additional days to their booking. After 4/19 return guests who do not already have at least one booking between April 20th and May 3rd will not be eligible to book lessons.
Booking Process
- Bookings can only be made directly, through the myConcierge team. The preferred method of booking is for you to text the pro phone (604-935-9154) or email wbmyconcierge@vailresorts.com so we know you’re available on the requested day and have agreed to the lesson.
- If the guest would prefer to book themselves, they will need to email wbmyconcierge@vailresorts.com. Reminder that you cannot give out the pro phone number to guests.
Action Requested from Instructors
If you know that your clients/guests plan to visit after April 19th, please reach out to them as soon as possible to encourage early booking. This ensures:
- The guest secures their preferred dates and instructor (you)
- We can accurately plan late-season staffing levels
- You remain active in our system for work throughout the additional weeks of operation
Payroll Assurance
All instructors with Private Lessons booked in the system beyond April 19th will remain on payroll through the completion of their scheduled lessons.
FROM THE SCHEDULING TEAM
To all,
This past week tested every ounce of your grit—cold rain, heavy gear, long days—and you showed up anyway. That says everything about your professionalism and your heart for this job. What you do matters more than the weather: you kept students safe, smiling, and progressing when conditions were far from ideal.
With four weeks still ahead, remember this—you’ve already proven you can handle the toughest days. Better turns, brighter moments, and blue-sky surprises are still to come. Take pride in the impact you make every single day, lean on each other, and keep bringing the energy that defines this team.
Finish strong. You’ve earned it.
End of Season Pay
As we approach the end of the season, please take a moment to carefully review your pay stub and/or pay advice. It’s important that all hours are accurate prior to your seasonal separation.
If you notice any discrepancies, please reach out to your supervisor as soon as possible so they can be addressed promptly.
Your hours count toward your merit for next season, and this year they must be finalized at the time of your separation. We also want to ensure you have been paid for every hour worked.
Thank you for your attention to this.

Looking forward to coming back to
Snow School next winter?
We still have a month left in this season, but we’re already excited about planning for next winter and we hope you are too! If you’re thinking about returning to Snow School for the 26/27 season, please take a moment to read through the updated steps below.
Please note:
When filling out the Returner Interest Form (linked below), please tick yes if you would like to remain in the snow school - for example, if you are interested in just changing pods next season, you will tick yes.
| |
1. Fill out the Returner Interest Form in Epic Employee
This allows us to send out offer letters over the summer and get you rehired for next season.
2. Thinking about switching pods or joining a season-long program?
If you’re interested in working in a different pod or teaching a season-long program next year, join us at the Pod Fair on March 22nd. You’ll be able to meet the supervisors and see if it’s the right fit. Please note: all pod changes must be approved by the program supervisor.
3. Complete the Snow School Preference Form
Your preferences really help us! We use this form to build schedules over the summer.

THANK YOU
TEDDY BEAR DAYCARE

Lots is going on this week with Spring Break, St. Patrick’s Day, and everyone crossing their fingers for SNOW! As busy as the season is—and even as the long days begin to catch up with us—we are fortunate to have a group of staff who are always “on.”
Did you know we have a daycare? We are incredibly proud of the Teddy Bear Daycare and the remarkable caregivers who support it. Overseen by WB, the daycare offers a vital service to our entire community, welcoming 16 toddlers every Monday to Friday. Some children arrive ready to jump into every activity, while others are still working through the big transition of being away from Mom and Dad. And then there are the little ones who want to run, jump, explore, and fully embrace being exactly who they are—busy, curious, energetic kids!
To keep everyone safe, supported, and engaged, we rely on the most exceptional team of caregivers. Many of our staff have been with us for decades, bringing experience, consistency, and deep love for the work they do. Their dedication to creating a healthy, nurturing environment—where children can learn, grow, and express themselves—is truly unmatched.
Sheena Harrington leads the daycare with incredible skill and compassion. Her natural ability to support a wide range of emotions from the children, while maintaining clear communication and expectations with parents, is something special. Kristin, Andrea, Lady, and Miyuki bring their very best energy into the daycare every single day—always with smiles, always with patience, and always with the stamina required to meet the demands of toddler life. Our sub team of caregivers, Allison, Mellany, Colleen & MC bring the positive energy that the children love! I am so proud of the work this team does as they guide children through learning big emotions, kindness, independence, and the foundational skills they carry with them into kindergarten and beyond.
As we navigate this busy stretch of the season, I want to extend heartfelt gratitude to the entire Teddy Bear Daycare team. Your kindness, professionalism, and unwavering dedication make an extraordinary difference to the families we serve. Thank you for the care you give, the calm you create, and the joy you bring into the lives of so many little ones. We are truly lucky to have you.
Warm Regards,
Donna Kerr

Nicky has been a part of WB since the day she arrived in Whistler, and in that time she has become so much more than an instructor—she is a cherished colleague, a loyal friend, a devoted wife, and an incredible mom. Anyone who has worked with her or learned from her knows the warmth, strength, and compassion she brings into every space she enters. Her positivity and resilience have touched countless guests, students, and staff over the years, and she is truly one of the bright lights in our community.
At this time, Nicky and her family are facing challenges that no family should have to face alone. To help support them, a GoFundMe page has been created on their behalf. If you are able, we encourage you to consider making a donation. No amount is too small—every contribution helps provide financial support and relief for her lovely young family during a very difficult time.
Your generosity, whether through a donation or simply by sharing kind thoughts and words, means more than you know. Thank you for supporting Nicky and standing with her family.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Snow School Après this season—we truly appreciate your enthusiasm and the great energy you brought to each event.
Due to a decrease in demand, we have made the decision to pause Après for the remainder of the season. We look forward to bringing it back next season and creating more opportunities to connect and celebrate together.
In the meantime, you can still enjoy great offers—please see the link below for the Après Pass deal available at Gibbons Bar.
