Caring for Our Unhoused Neighbors in Georgetown

This summer, many of our unhoused neighbors in Georgetown will face extreme heat with limited access to shelter, showers, and consistent meals. Our Mercy and Justice Team is partnering with the Georgetown Coalition, KatKares, and the Wesleyan to support approximately 50 individuals with essential care items for summer.

We are collecting:

* Mosquito wipes, spray, or wristbands

* Sunscreen

* Antiseptic for bug bites

* Deodorant

* baseball hats

* tshirts - size XL

* summer socks - size L mens

These simple items help protect health and offer dignity during the hottest months of the year.

Please bring donations now through May 20 and place them in the collection bin.

Wellspring Week @ Project Transformation: June 22-25!

This summer, Wellspring is once again partnering with First UMC Georgetown to support Project Transformation—a ministry that connects children, college-age young adults, and churches through meaningful relationships and a shared commitment to literacy.

We’re excited to sponsor June 22–25 as “Wellspring Week,” providing reading buddies and meals (breakfast and lunch) for campers. Whether you can serve during this focused week or at another time this summer, please consider getting involved! Ready to help? Sign up today!

Serve as a Reading Buddy @ FUMC Georgetown
Volunteers read one-on-one with children in 1st–6th grade who are participating in Project Transformation’s summer day camps. It’s a simple and meaningful way to build relationships and support a child’s confidence in reading.Please note: a background check and abuse prevention training are required.

Faithful Resistance: A Conversation on Immigration

Monday, May 18 | 6:30 PM (Zoom)

All are invited to join in a thoughtful and grace-filled conversation on immigration.

Together, we’ll be guided by a powerful sermon from Bishop LaTrelle Miller Easterling, rooted in Psalm 24 and connected to the creation stories and the teachings of Jesus. Her message invites us to consider what it means to live as people of God in a world shaped by borders, policies, and human need.

This gathering will be a space for reflection, listening, and honest sharing as we consider how our faith shapes the way we engage this important and complex topic. Wherever you find yourself, you are welcome.

Come ready to listen, share, and seek together. Register to receive the zoom link and information about advance preparation.

Exciting Changes Ahead: Transition to ACS/Realm for Church Management System

As we shared during Meet at the Well this past Sunday, Wellspring will officially begin transitioning our Church Management System (database software) from ShelbyNext to ACS/Realm in mid-June. We are excited about this move because ACS/Realm offers a much more user-friendly experience for both members and ministry leaders, along with improved tools for communication, group management, giving, and church connection.

Until the transition process begins, we will continue using ShelbyNext exactly as we have been. Please continue giving, entering information, and using existing systems, through ShelbyNext until we notify you to stop using Shelby.

There will be a transition window period in June when we will stop using ShelbyNext so that our data can be fully transferred. Once the transition period begins, we anticipate being without an active church management system for about a week while the migration is completed. During this brief downtime, our staff will continue working behind the scenes to prepare the new system and ensure as smooth a transition as possible. We appreciate your patience and grace during this process.

Once ACS/Realm is fully operational, we will immediately begin helping members, ministry teams, and group leaders get connected and comfortable with the new platform. We believe this transition will greatly improve the way we communicate, organize ministry, and stay connected as a church community.

Thank you for your flexibility and support as we move into this next chapter together.

Hearts Transformed Class, Rm 203, 2nd Floor
This class studies the weekly worship sermon... The Loving Advocate
John 14:15-21
Our love for Jesus is expressed in keeping the commandment to love. Period. But we need a loving Advocate, a Helper, a Spirit of Truth, a Divine feminine wisdom to guide our steps. When we follow that Loving Advocate, we are guided by true Wisdom. And that Wisdom will lead us to advocate in a loving way for others.  Contact Neal Baumwart (nbaumwart@hotmail.com) or Ronna Keagle (rrkeagle@gmail.com)
