4moms Acquired by Global Baby Product Producer

UPPAbaby, a global baby products company, has closed on an asset purchase agreement with the parent company of 4moms, a local robotics company specializing in products for infants.

4moms was founded in 2005 by Carnegie Mellon University alumnus Henry Thorne and Robert Daley. The company's initial product was a folding stroller. It then received larger recognition for a robotic baby rocker, which has sold millions of units. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed

NAVAIR Selects Near Earth Autonomy for USMC Aerial Logistics Connector Program

Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) has selected Near Earth Autonomy, co-founded by Carnegie Mellon University alumnus and CEO Sanjiv Singh, to spearhead one of the teams for the United States Marine Corps’ Aerial Logistics Connector program.

Innovation Scholar Alex Garcia To Showcase
Metagigs at Gamescom 2024 
Tepper School of Business alumnus and Innovation Scholar Alex Garcia, co-founder and Head of Growth at Metagigs, will be heading to Germany in August to attend Gamescom 2024, the largest gaming conference in the world attended by important gaming companies and investors. His company, which is working with studios to build the first in-game marketplace for player-to-player services, is looking to bring on strategic advisors and angel investors to help the company grow in its early stages, as well as potential early adopters for the product. 

Alex will also be traveling to events in Boston, London, Barcelona and San Francisco, CA to boost the company's growth.

Matt Kirmayer of Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP, is offering office hours for newly established startup and emerging companies. Matt specializes in representing technology startups and emerging growth companies, assisting with entity formation, fundraising and overall growth needs. Startup companies with a founder who is a CMU graduate, undergraduate or alumni is eligible to register for
an appointment. Complete the Signup Form for a 30 minute session by the Thursday prior to your
desired appointment.
