Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,
Your safety is our top priority. UT Health Science Center Campus Police, along with supporting offices, are closely monitoring the social media active shooter threats affecting multiple schools within the Memphis and Shelby County area.
While we have not received any threats specific to the UT Health Science Center campus, additional threats were made this morning against other schools, including the University of Memphis. Over 100 threats have been reported in Tennessee this week alone, none of which have been carried out. Law enforcement takes all threats of this nature seriously, and UT Health Science Center Police will be working closely with area agencies to ensure the safety of our campus.
We encourage you to report any suspicious activity immediately to UT Health Science Center Campus Police. Please avoid opening doors for anyone without a visible UT Health Science Center ID badge, or anyone attempting to piggyback into the building without scanning their ID.
As a reminder:
UT Health Science Center Campus Police is accessible 24/7, year-round, and can be reached via phone at 901.448.4444, by utilizing the RAVE Guardian App, or through multiple emergency phone boxes/towers located throughout campus.
