Event Center to be Renamed "State Bank Arena"

SUU and State Bank of Southern Utah (SBSU) announced on Tuesday a major long-term sponsorship, reinforcing a legacy of cooperation and a shared vision for the success of SUU and our students. As part of the agreement, the event center will be renamed State Bank Arena, with the transition taking effect in the fall 2027.

Myndee Kay Larsen Named Athletic Director

Following a national search, alumna Myndee Kay Larsen has been named as SUU's next athletic director and her appointment begins next month. "Myndee Kay brings a clear vision for the future of Thunderbirds Athletics and a strong commitment to the long-term success of Southern Utah University," said President Mindy Benson.

Audra Wilson and Amy Adams were recently honored by Utah Lt. Governor Deidre Henderson for their exceptional leadership and commitment to community service. As members of UServeUtah's 2025-2026 College Community Engagement Council, both were recognized for developing initiatives that addressed critical needs in Iron County.

Larry H. Miller Utah Summer Games 40th Anniversary Opening Ceremony

The 40th Anniversary show this Friday is paying tribute to where it all started, with southern Utah's best fireworks show, live music, the Parade of Athletes, and people who have been carrying the flame for four decades. It all happens Friday, June 5, at Eccles Coliseum with the Block Party at 5 p.m. and Opening Ceremony at 8:30 p.m.
