Celebrating our Hispanic Serving Identity |
We enthusiastically embrace a month of celebration, reflection, and appreciation throughout September and October. Hispanic Heritage Month, from September 15th to October 15th, is a time to honor and recognize the profound contributions of Hispanic and Latina/o communities to our nation's rich tapestry. This annual observance offers us an invaluable opportunity to delve into the vibrant cultures, traditions, and histories that have shaped our society.
Throughout the coming weeks of Hispanic Heritage Month, we will embark on a journey of exploration, highlighting the achievements, artistry, and resilience of Hispanic and Latina/o individuals. From trailblazing leaders to talented artists, entrepreneurs, and countless unsung heroes, their impact reverberates throughout our campus and daily lives. We invite you to join us in embracing this cultural exchange and fostering understanding about the diversity that makes our university, community, and world a more vibrant and interconnected place to learn, live, and work.
Sincerely,
Tamara L. Brown
Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs

Post Doc Appreciation Week |
Did you know that National Postdoctoral Appreciation Week is September 18-22? The U.S. House of Representatives has recognized this week as an opportunity to celebrate the significant contributions that postdoctoral scholars make to research, discovery, and innovation. UTA is a member of the sponsoring organization, the National Postdoctoral Association (NPA), which will be hosting several online events for postdocs across the county. UTA postdocs and other researchers can learn more here. The NPA also provides many resources for postdocs and their faculty supervisors related to improving the postdoc experience and providing training for those in these important positions to achieve the next level of their careers. Members of the UTA community can register for a free account at the NPA website to access these resources.
