We hope you are excited for your Texas A&M New Student Conference (NSC)! We have some helpful information as you prepare for your NSC.

Check-In:
Please refer to your check-in details below:

Time: Day 1 of your NSC from 7:45-8:45 a.m.
Location: Bethancourt Ballroom (room 2300) in the Memorial Student Center (MSC)*. Please use the entrance located on the corner of Joe Routt Bld. and Gene Stallings Blvd.
Parking: West Campus Garage; more details can be found at tx.ag/NSCParkInfo

*The MSC is a living memorial and tribute to Aggies who lost their lives in wars past, present, or future. As a memorial, those entering the building are asked to remove their hats. Those walking outside are asked not to walk on the grass surrounding the facility, as a sign of respect to fallen Aggies.

Final Reminders

Below is a list of tasks that you should complete before arriving for your NSC. If not completed, these could impact your ability to register for classes on Day 2.

Fulfill the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) requirements - asc.tamu.edu
Complete Tuition Rate Code selection in Howdy (in-state residents only) - howdy.tamu.edu
Complete Online Orientation (required) - orientation.tamu.edu
Complete Math Placement Exam at Texas A&M - tx.ag/NSCMPE
Complete Foreign Language Placement Tests (if applicable) - tx.ag/NSCFLPE
Complete the Lab Safety Acknowledgement - howdy.tamu.edu
Send any AP/IB scores to qualify for and claim college credit (if applicable) - testing.tamu.edu

Prepare for your NSC

Texas Weather

The weather will be hot and humid during your NSC. We recommend wearing comfortable clothes and walking shoes as you will be traveling around campus for various meetings. Campus classrooms, meeting rooms, and auditoriums tend to be chilly, so we suggest bringing a light jacket. Be sure to check the weather forecast in advance of your NSC as a rain jacket or umbrella may be necessary.

Register Your Guests

Registering your family members in the Applicant Information System (AIS) will ensure that they get important updates and information prior to the NSC. Guests must be registered at least 2 days prior to Day 1.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Must I attend both days of my NSC?

Yes. In order to provide a comprehensive orientation experience, you are required to complete the entire NSC. Failure to complete your full NSC will result in a registration hold on your account.

Do I need to submit my transcript(s) before my NSC?

You will need to send your official Final High School Transcript by August 15. An unofficial transcript could be useful to have on Day 2 of your NSC for course registration.

Do I need to print off my NSC parking permit?

The license plate you used to generate your NSC parking permit will serve as your permit during your NSC. The West Campus Garage is the most convenient place to park for Day 1 of the NSC. You will not need to scan in for this garage.
