REMINDER ON DATA NEEDS FOR PENDING TEXT MESSAGING SERVICE

As noted in an email from the school sent on September 30, SVdP is in the process of setting up a text messaging service for occasional use when circumstances warrant quick communication. You can read more about that here.

Configuration and set up work will be done on the SMS system beginning on October 16. Having as many  submissions for inclusion in our database by that date would be ideal. Thanks to families who have already submitted cell phone information.  If you haven't responded yet, you can do so here.

2024-2025 BASKETBALL REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN

Online registrations are now being accepted for the 2024-2025 SVdP basketball season for boys and girls in grades 3-8 who are registered in the SVdP Religious Education or 5-Day School programs. Registration fees are $75.00, with registration ending on October 11.

Volunteers are needed for the school health our re-screening on Tuesday, October 8th. Please consider helping with this event! Both morning and afternoon time slots are available. No screening experience is necessary, but volunteers must have completed Safe Environment Training. Please see the sign-up genius links below.

Picture Retakes - Oct. 10, 2024: 

Retakes will be on Thursday, October 10th. Students will report to their homeroom first and then sent to get their picture retaken. 

Students who missed picture day in September need to either bring their paper order form or fill order online at https://scholasticphotography.com/. 

Student who are retaking their picture must bring back their original picture packet (if they were given one) on the day of retakes. Please see the Scholastic Photography retake policy for information on extra fees for retakes. 

After School Care Employment Opportunity: The hours for this part-time position would be Monday through Friday from 2:45 P.M.-6 P.M. during the school year August-May. The pay is $13.50 per hour. Email Diane Warneke at warneked@svdpomaha.org to apply for this position.

2025-2026 Preschool New Parent Meeting

We will have a Preschool New Parent meeting on Monday October 21st at 6:30 P.M. in the Media Center for families interested in the 2025-2026 Preschool program. This is an informational meeting for new parents. Families with children currently in the Preschool program are always welcome, but are not required to attend. Preschool registration for the 25-26 school year will begin on October 22nd on our school website www.svdp-school.org. Parent/Teacher Conferences

Parent/Teacher Conferences are scheduled for Thursday, October 24. Parents of students in grades P-8 sign up for specific time slots. A live link for conference signup pages will be available now on the "Click and Go"! section of the SVdP home page. Signups continue through 3:30 P.M. on Tuesday, October 22.

Preschool conferences are also available Wednesday, 10/23 from 12:30-4:00 P.M. (no afternoon preschool on this day).

Please call the school office or contact your child's teacher if you miss the online sign up.

If you are unable to attend conferences, please contact your child's homeroom teacher to make arrangements to pick up the report card. Thank you! 

The cross country team participated in the Mount Michael Invite on Tuesday, September 24th, hosting both high school and middle school meets with a total of nearly 930 runners. Each middle school race included over 140 participants and featured 22 middle school teams.

During the Mount Michael Invite, the boys' team secured the 11th position, with Nolan Cheney finishing 11th and Brayden Miller in 34th place. The girls' team also claimed the 11th spot, with Tatum Houghton clinching 1st place and Alexis Baas finishing 60th.

Moving forward to Saturday, September 28th at Skutt, Tatum Houghton triumphed in 1st place for the girls as their team achieved 5th place. For the boys, Brayden Miller ranked 24th, closely followed by John Boesch in 25th place, with the boys' team placing 8th overall.

Administrative Assistant Job Opening In SVdP Parish OFFICE

We are now accepting resumes for an Administrative Assistant in the Parish Office. Job duties include interacting with parishioners and visitors in person, receiving phone calls, and completing clerical and data entry responsibilities. Candidate should be proficient in Word, Excel, database, and email programs. This is a 12-month position, 25-30 hours per week, Monday through Friday (8:30 A.M. to 2:30 P.M.).

Calling all bakers!" Please consider donating baked items to the Fall Bake Sale sponsored by the Family Guild to be held after all Masses on October 12 & 13. Please mark donated items $1 to $3 for small items $4 to $6 for medium items, and $7 to $10 for larger items. A basket will be available for cash donations. All proceeds from the sale will support parish funeral luncheons, Catholic school scholarships, and much more. Baked goods can be dropped off Saturday afternoon inside the SW door by the parish center on a designated cart. Thank you!
