The end of February is here, Warhawks. Doesn’t it feel like spring? ICYMI — we joined the Universities of Wisconsin in celebrating our business partnerships and honored our resident assistants last week.

Tuning up for the Big Apple

The Symphonic Wind Ensemble will present its Carnegie Hall program this Sunday, March 2, at 3 p.m. in The Young. On March 11, the group will once again make history as it presents its third performance in the New York City concert hall, one of the world’s most famous venues! The ensemble was the first-ever university band to perform there, and no other school has performed there more than once.

Teaching Kitchen: Warhawk Pantry edition 

Enjoy a hands-on cooking experience with Warhawk Pantry and Warhawk Dining this Tuesday, Feb. 25, at 4 p.m. at The Perch in Drumlin Hall. Learn how to create a balanced meal with tips from our campus dietitian and Drumlin’s executive chef and build your own pasta bowl with ingredients from Warhawk Pantry!

A total of 39 students are part of the university's production of "The Maid Turned Mistress/Dido and Aeneas," which continues performances this Thursday at Barnett Theatre.

A total of 169 students are representing the university as student teachers at schools in Wisconsin, Illinois, and other neighboring states during the 2025 spring semester.

Four members of the UW-Whitewater wrestling team garnered All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference accolades following their performances at the 2025 WIAC Championship on Feb. 15 in Whitewater.

Kudos to Hairi, assistant professor of computer science, who co-authored “Byzantine-Robust Decentralized Federated Learning,” which was presented at the Association for Computing Machinery Conference on Computer and Communications Security on Oct. 14-18, 2024, in Salt Lake City, Utah. This innovative work strengthens decentralized federated learning, making it more resilient to Byzantine attacks and ensuring robust performance in distributed environments. Read the paper »

2025 International Dinner coming up
