You Made It Loud and Clear: Congress Should Protect Medicaid

Together, we have the power to amplify our impact and advocate more effectively for change. Last week we collected signatures on our letter urging Congress to protect Medicaid. Thank you to the more than 118 organizations and 600 individuals who signed the letter, which we sent to Congressional leadership earlier this week. We will continue to oppose attacks on Medicaid and any other efforts that undermine access to affordable health care and target vulnerable populations.

Our new online nationwide directory of medical respite/recuperative care programs will launch in February! We won't be moving entries over from our old directory, so we're asking programs to submit their information here by Jan. 31.

Only programs who have completed a NEW directory profile will be eligible to apply for certification, which is set to launch in early spring.

New FAQ from HRSA: Recording Street Medicine in Scope

Did you know you can provide in-scope services through street medicine to your patients and other residents of your service area at locations outside your health center including homeless encampments, parks, and under bridges?

The Health Resources and Services Administration has posted a compliance FAQ page that explains how to document these services in your health center’s HRSA-approved scope of project. For more information, review the Scope of Project webpage. Submit questions via the BPHC Contact Form (Program Monitoring H80 > Change in Scope).

You're Invited to Participate in Upcoming ENHANCE-HCH Survey

Keep an eye on your inbox for an invitation to participate in the Enhancing Navigation to Help Advance Nationwide Cancer Equity in Health Care for the Homeless Programs study!

Researchers in Boston, led by Dr. Travis Baggett, are conducting a survey to assess the characteristics and cancer screening practices of HCH programs. NHCHC is proud to partner with the ENHANCE-HCH team to advance research on homelessness and health. Your participation helps advance the evidence base for high quality health care in the movement to end homelessness.

Email invitations are being sent to HCH program leaders from tbaggett@mgh.harvard.edu. You may have already received one or will soon. The survey takes about 10 minutes, and respondents are paid $75 for their time. We would greatly appreciate your participation!

Questions about the study? Contact the research team at enhancehch-study@mgb.org or at (617) 306-9716. You can also email Dr. Travis Baggett at tbaggett@mgh.harvard.edu.
