Senate Education Committee meets Tuesday

With Crossover Day behind it, the Senate Education Committee begins hearing bills that have passed out of the House.  The committee will meet tomorrow to hear three bills:

HB 874 concerns automatic defibrillators in public schools.

HB 1184 states: “If a local board of education provides information on immunizations, infectious diseases, medications, or other school health issues to parents and guardians of students in grades six through 12,” then information about Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes shall be included.

HB 1122 specifies funding for locally chartered and state chartered schools for superintendents and principals.
Civic Nation is hosting another student debt clinic as part of the SAVE on Student Debt campaign.  On Saturday, March 9, at 1:30 p.m. in Atlanta, Civic Nation will hold an informational session covering student loan repayment options.  The rest of the event will be an open clinic for borrowers to get support navigating their student loans and signing up for income-driven repayment programs alongside trained facilitators.  Click here or on the graphic above for more information and to register for the event.
Next Legislative Update will be Tuesday, March 5 - Day 30
