WE Salute our Scholars!

Secretary of Education Mark Holodick recognized 93 public school students from the Class of 2024 as Secretary of Education Scholars. Among them were  William Penn's own Adrianna Hutton (top), Folasayo Kehinde (left) Anthony Ayala (center), and Mollie Lukowski (right). These students excelled both in and outside of school.  WE are Proud of our Colonials!

Check out the Chicks at CEEP

Lots of eggs were cracking at Colonial's Early Education Program and the preschoolers loved it!  Embryology Week provided a unique opportunity for students to learn about the fascinating process of embryonic development through hands-on experiences and engaging activities. It was a very exhausting week for the adults who had to monitor the eggs and care for the chicks, but for the kiddos, it was a fun and unique opportunity to learn about the development of chicken embryos as they watched the eggs hatch in their classrooms.

Dancing with the Stars

A Starry Night was the theme of the prom at Leach this year. The students loved dressing up and dancing with teachers, staff, and their family members. The prom is always a magical moment for everyone!

Art Show is the Best Show!

Once again the Annual Art Show was a crowd-pleaser. Showcasing the talents of Colonial students is a tradition that everyone enjoys!

Entrepreneur Day at Penn

Entrepreneur Day gave students the opportunity to showcase their talents which ranged from hair care, and handmade products to tasty treats.  The student business operators loved getting the exposure while other students and staff loved supporting the micro-businesses.

Thanks Amazon!

Southern Principal Rich Bryson got a nice surprise when 900 notebooks were donated delivered by Amazon. The notebooks were distributed to classrooms so teachers and students could put them to good use. WE love our community business partners!

Equity Speakers Series

Colonial's Equity Speakers Series ended for this school year with an eye-opening presentation by Chief Executive Officer of TRANSFORM ED, Dr. Yolanda Stanislaus. The former principal discussed how the things learned from parents, relatives, and teachers shape children's thoughts.  She challenged participants to consider how socialization impacts growth, development, and educational experiences. Kudos to organizers who brought thought-provoking speakers to the district throughout the  school year.

WE Need Your Help!

The Passport to Global Flavors program allows Colonial School District students to try foods and flavor profiles from various cultures around the world on the last Wednesday of each month. Colonial School District Nutrition Services wants YOUR input on which cultures and cuisines our students should taste during the 24-25 SY.

Please fill out the following survey by May 13th to let us know your thoughts! Click HERE to share your ideas.
