- Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) information for the 2025-2026 academic year is now available.
-
Please review the eligibility criteria on the Student Health Center SHIP page to see whether you will be automatically enrolled in SHIP.
-
For students who are automatically enrolled, the deadline to waive GW SHIP coverage will be September 12, 2025.
- For students who are not automatically enrolled, the deadline to opt-in for coverage under GW SHIP will be September 12, 2025.
-
Enrollment in the Student Accounts monthly payment plan for Fall 2025 tuition will end on August 24, 2025. You can read a quick rundown on the monthly payment plan in the Important Reminders section of the full Student Newsletter. More information is available on the Student Accounts Monthly Payment Plan page.
- Please be mindful of the Student Accounts Late Fee and Tuition Refund policies. Tuition, health insurance charges, and other fees are due by the first day of the semester, or upon registration if the semester has already begun.
-
After the first day of classes, any courses dropped will be refunded according to the Tuition Refund Policy. This means that you are not guaranteed a 100% refund if you drop a course once classes have started. The last day to drop a Fall 2025 course for a 100% tuition refund will be September 7, 2025. If you need help adjusting your course schedule after that date, please reach out to ccasgradserv@gwu.edu.
- Any outstanding balance on your Student Account after the start of the semester may be subject to a late payment fee. Please review the Late Payments page on the Student Accounts Office website for a breakdown of the fee schedule.
-
Do you have a registration hold? Holds preventing registration may only be removed by the office that placed them. Check out the Important Reminders section of the full Student Newsletter for a breakdown of the most common registration holds and how to remove them.

Choosing the RTF vs. RTF-EZ |
You may have seen some references to forms called the RTF (sometimes called the RTF Classic) and the RTF-EZ. Students can register for most courses online via GWeb. When a student cannot self-register online, we use a registration form - either the RTF or the RTF-EZ - to help them register.
|
If you are ever unsure which registration form you should use, please reach out to us at ccasgradserv@gwu.edu for guidance.
|
Registering for Courses with Variable Credit Hours |
Certain courses, including thesis, dissertation, internship, and research courses, have variable credit hours. This means that you can choose the number of credits you will be earning when you register for the course.
When you register for a course with variable credit hours, the registration system will automatically default to 1 credit hour registered. If you would like to register for more than 1 credit, you will need to adjust the number of credits by following the instructions for Variable Credit Adjustments on the Registrar's Office website.
