August/September 2025

Dear Parent,

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome back all of the families who had their child(ren) enrolled in St. Vincent de Paul School last year and extend a warm welcome to all whose children are entering our school community. The teachers and staff look forward to a year of shared responsibility with parents in building Catholic values, ideals, and academic excellence. Thank you for allowing all of us the privilege of helping your child(ren) grow, both spiritually and academically.

I would like to personally invite every family to the K-8 Open House on August 12. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet your child’s teacher, reacquaint with friends, and bring in school supplies. Open House runs from 5:00-6:30 P.M. A special thank you to the Men’s Club for offering ice cream treats as you leave that evening. I appreciate their thoughtfulness and generosity as we kick off the new school year.

Our school theme again for 2025-2026 is "Be More."

1) Our goal with this theme will be to continue finding ways we can develop the talents and gifts God has given each of us.

2) Some examples are to "Be More" helpful, creative, supportive, cheerful, considerate, and the list can go on. As we move through this school year, we will provide opportunities for our students and staff to continue to reflect on this theme.  As a family, we hope you will carry this theme into your homes.

Again, I welcome you as partners in the education of your child(ren). If I can do anything for you this year, please do not hesitate to contact me. I am always willing to listen or help in any way I can. Your child is important to me!

I look forward to the new school year with eagerness and gratitude. Thank you for entrusting us with your child(ren)!

With love and gratitude,

Dr. Barbara Marchese

Progress Reports

Grades K-2

Progress reports are sent to parents of students at mid-quarter. This is ample time for a student to improve before report cards are distributed. The report that is sent home must be signed and returned. Progress reports will be sent home Monday, September 15.

Grades 3-8

Parents of students in grades 3-8 can access student grades through PowerSchool, which provides the most current information. Teachers in grades 3-8 update PowerSchool grades at least every 2 weeks. Therefore, hard copies of progress reports will not be sent home with students in grades 3-8. It is the responsibility of parents to access PowerSchool grades on a regular basis.
