The Rock County campus recently opened its Creative Studio, a versatile multimedia space where students, faculty, staff and community members can record and stream podcasts, music or videos. Trevor Rees, lecturer of communication and theatre arts, is helping bring the space to life to enhance student success.

Celebrate Earth Month at the UC

Celebrate Earth Month at the Succulent Workshop this Tuesday, April 22, at 7 p.m. in the UC Hamilton Room! In collaboration with UW-Whitewater Sustainability, this hands-on event lets you decorate your own pot and plant a succulent to take home. There are only 250 plants available, so be sure to arrive early as they’re offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

“No Exit” premieres this week

The College of Arts and Communication’s production of “No Exit” by Jean Paul Sartre, adapted from the French by Paul Bowles and directed by Robyn Accetta, is set to begin with the first of six performances this Friday, April 25, at Hicklin Studio Theatre inside the Greenhill Center of the Arts.

|
A total of 14 student-athletes from UW-Whitewater teams were named Academic All-District by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) for the 2024-25 winter season.

Kudos to members of the Warhawk esports team on being recognized by the Wisconsin Esports Conference for their performances. John Adkins, an accounting major from Whitewater, earned first team honors and Cooper Matthews, a professional writing and publishing major from Sycamore, Illinois, received second team accolades in Super Smash Bros Ultimate. Seth Neuheisel, an accounting and human resources management major from Spring Green, and Devyn Barker, an accounting major from Whitewater, each garnered second team honors in Overwatch 2.

Kudos to chemistry majors Foster Boom of Pleasant Prairie, Spencer Cooper of East Troy, and Nick Barmore of Evansville, who presented their undergraduate research within the lab of Steven Girard, associate professor of chemistry, at the National American Chemical Society (ACS) Spring 2025 conference on March 23-27 in San Diego, California. Girard also recently co-authored a research article published in “Angewandte Chemie.” The paper investigates the exceptionally low thermal conductivity of PbSnS2 for thermoelectric applications. Taylor Wojcinski, a marketing major from Franklin, placed first in the Sales Competition, and Rafa Alvarez-Reyes, a marketing major from Milwaukee, was a recipient of the Diversity Leadership Scholarship.
