January:
All groups will receive a check-in survey to assess successes and/or concerns with the progress of your groups.
  • Optional opportunity for the 2023-2024 Peer Connections Cohort: 

    Title: Peer Connections Drop-In Meeting
    Date & Time: Thursday, January 25th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
    Description: This is a two hour, open Zoom session where you and your group can plan to drop-in and meet together. You can utilize as much or little time as you want in order to work towards the goals you have set for this year. This is also a great time to check in with the Peer Connections Planning Team. Please email Tori Arnold with any questions. 2023-24 Peer Connections participants will be added to the calendar event for this opportunity.
February:
  • Optional event for the 2023-2024 Peer Connections Cohort: 

    Title: Overcoming Obstacles in Medical Education
    Date: Monday, February 12th via Zoom (Time TBD)
April:
Save the date for our annual Spring Event. This will be our first in-person event since 2019!
  • Spring Event open to all:

    Title: Win-win Problem Solving to Build Bridges
    Date & Time: Friday, April 12th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
    Description: This topic will be presented by Anna Nielsen and hosted at Michigan State University in East Lansing.

Medical School Bulletin Board
Name: Laughter as a Friend
Date and Time: Wednesday, January 10 from 1 to 2 p.m. via Zoom
Institution: OUWB
Description: This presentation will provide information on how laughter is an excellent alternative intervention for reducing the effects of stress. Participants will identify beneficial uses of laughter to resolve tension and formulate an effective strategy for incorporating laughter into both work and home life.

Dr. Carolina Restini is currently an associate editor on a Research Topic entitled Evidence-based outreach/service-learning to improve health-related self-efficacy through STEMM education. It's being published in the journal Frontiers in Public Health. She is looking for others who may be interested in contributing. The submission deadline is March 4, 2024, and you can read more here.
