Warhawk men, women earn gold for Team USA at Parapan Games |
Behind strong performances from current and former UW-Whitewater student-athletes, the Team USA wheelchair basketball men’s and women’s teams each captured a gold medal and punched their ticket to the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris over the weekend at the 2023 Parapan American Games in Santiago, Chile.

Launching excellence in the lab: Warhawk Nick Barmore earns NASA grant |
From stargazing as a child in his hometown of Evansville to working as an undergraduate researcher inside UW-Whitewater’s Upham Hall, Nick Barmore has always had an interest in space. That passion, combined with the support of the university's chemistry department, earned Barmore a prestigious $4,000 grant from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and Wisconsin Space Grant Consortium (WSGC) as part of the Undergraduate Research Awards Program.

| Warhawk alum Andy Farley named 2024 National Principal of the Year |
Andy Farley is in his 11th year as principal at Brookfield East High School, one of Wisconsin’s most decorated schools. A 2001 graduate of UW-Whitewater who earned a BSE in social studies education, Farley was himself a student at Brookfield East. And now he brings a national achievement: He has become the first Wisconsin principal since 1993 to earn the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) National Principal of the Year.

Warhawk Football advances to NCAA Quarterfinals |
Join us in celebrating the Warhawk Football team! They moved forward in the Division III NCAA football tournament by defeating Wheaton College 49-42 at Perkins Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 25. This marks their 14th time reaching the quarterfinals since 2005. Let’s keep cheering them on!

Celebrate the sounds of the season at the annual Gala Benefit Concert at Young Auditorium on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2023, with preconcert ensembles beginning at 6:45 p.m. and a full concert at 7:30 p.m., with ensembles playing throughout the building before and after the main concert and during intermission. The Gala is an annual tradition that features nearly every student ensemble in the Department of Music.

Kudos to finance major Ryan Riser on being named WIAC Athlete of the Week: Wrestling. Riser went 4-0 in the 184-pound weight class during the Olivet College, Comet Duals on Nov. 18. In his toughest match of the day, Riser defeated the No. 6-ranked Gavin Layman from Ohio Northern in sudden victory.
Kudos to Emily Connell on being named WIAC Athlete of the Week: Women’s Swimming. Emily won the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle in a dual meet against UW-Stevens Point on Nov. 18. She recorded a time of 25.55 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle, edging out the second-place finisher by 0.08 seconds.

From Monday, Nov. 27, through Thursday, Dec. 7, the Fall 2023 BFA Senior Exhibition will feature the work of senior art students who are graduating with a degree in fine arts from the Department of Art and Design at UW-Whitewater. The exhibition is a capstone event and an opportunity for them to display their art for the public. A reception will be held Tuesday, Nov. 28, from 5-7 p.m.

Women’s Basketball tips off at home with Concordia University on Wednesday, Nov. 29, at 7 p.m at Kachel Gymnasium in the Williams Center. In the last matchup, the Warhawks emerged as the victor with a score of 71-46. This year, the Falcons will look to stop their five-game losing streak against the Warhawks. If not able to attend, the game will be streamed on the WIAC Network.

UW-Whitewater Career Services is hosting a business clothing drive Nov. 27-30 to support professional development and foster community. Students, faculty and staff are invited to contribute gently used business attire at drop boxes located at each entrance of Hyland Hall. The goal is to collect clothing to assist fellow Warhawks in their career pursuits.
