New $2 million Endowed Faculty Chair to support student opportunities |
UW-Whitewater is excited to announce the creation of the Harold M. Perry ’33 and Margaret A. Perry Endowed Faculty Chair! This $2 million gift will support a selected UW-Whitewater faculty member or members to tackle complex issues, develop long-term solutions, and positively affect Wisconsin’s economy and student success.

| “Sylvia” to debut this Friday

Performances of "Sylvia," a UW-Whitewater theatre/dance production directed by Robyn Accetta, will run this Friday-Sunday, Nov. 15-17, and next week Wednesday-Saturday, Nov. 20-23, at Hicklin Studio Theatre in the Greenhill Center of the Arts.

Kudos to Dwight C. Watson, professor of curriculum and instruction, who presented “Mentoring Through a Lens of Black Leadership Joy: Lift as You Climb” at the 17th Annual Mentoring Conference, Inclusive Developmental Networks Building Transformative Communities Through Effective Mentoring at the University of New Mexico on Oct. 23.

Kudos to graduate students led by Gina Martin, assistant professor of counselor education, who recently studied abroad in Scotland! A group of students studying to be counselors learned about Scottish culture, covering topics like mental health in Scotland and across different cultures. It was an eye-opening and reflective experience!

Kudos to Police Officer Justin Stuppy and K9 Tilla, who participated in the City of Whitewater’s Ghouls Night Out, a citywide trick-or-treat event. Whitewater’s Community Space
|
Warhawk students are welcome at the Community Space, where food, clothing, furniture, books and housewares are shared with Whitewater community members. Located at 834 E. Milwaukee St. (across from 841 Brewhouse), the Community Space is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. No appointment is necessary, and all are welcome to access these free resources.

In the community: CommUnity Walk set for Saturday
Connect with friends and neighbors in Whitewater this Saturday, Nov. 16, for the CommUnity Walk presented by Be Kind Whitewater. The event begins at 9 a.m. at the Whitewater Armory, located at 146 W. North St., and includes a unified community walk to Andersen Library, where refreshments will be served.
