Upcoming: Sacred Stitches Project
Vanderbilt Divinity School and the the Wond'ry’s Fiber Arts Build Lab invite interested persons to participate in a collaborative service project with local communities of faith to quilt mementos for families who have lost a loved one. The project will include discussions of different faith traditions and pathways toward interfaith solidarity. The mementos will be donated to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for distribution.
Funded by Vanderbilt University’s Division of Government and Community Relations and the Community Engagement Collaboration Fund, the Sacred Stitches Project will include all necessary materials for participants.
No sewing or crafting experience is necessary.
When: June 1st, June 8th, and June 15th, 2:00pm-5:00pm
Where: The Wond’ry’s Fiber Arts Build Lab, 2414 Highland Avenue,Suite 102 (second floor, FAB Lab Room 202). Paid parking is available in the 25th Avenue Garage; free street parking is available near Fannie Mae Dees Park (10-15 minute walk).
Why: Build authentic relationships, engage in reflective learning, promote meaningful and lasting solidarity, and show support for grieving families at VUMC.
