KU Design Professional Lecture Series: May Tveit 

6:00 pm | 3140 Wescoe Hall 

May Tveit is an artist, educator, and former industrial design professor at the University of Kansas. Trained in industrial design at the Rhode Island School of Design and the Domus Academy in Milan, Italy, Tveit creates large-scale sculptural installations and works on paper that transform materials from commerce and industry into compelling geometric abstractions. Her work has been exhibited nationally and featured in publications including Art in America, Art Papers, and National Public Radio. Through her practice, Tveit explores the intersections of art, design, architecture, and human experience.

Former KU industrial design professor May Tveit creates large-scale sculptural installations and works on paper that transform everyday commercial and industrial materials into geometric abstractions. Her nationally exhibited work explores the intersections of art, design, architecture, and human experience.  

Christian Thompson: Future Ancestor | Spencer Museum of Art

On view until January 10, 2027

In Future Ancestor, Thompson creates a multimedia installation that weaves together history, language, and imagined futures. Blurring the boundaries between storytelling and visual culture, voice and gesture, Thompson’s artistic practice becomes a method of language preservation and cultural survival, allowing Bidjara to resonate across generations.

Jayhawks Abroad Scholarship 

The Jayhawks Abroad Scholarship is through the Study Abroad and Global Engagement Office and can award $200,000 worth of scholarships to students. The scholarship is merit based, which requires students to have a 3.5 GPA or above, and a Need Based which requires a FASFA to be on file.

St.Louis-area Architecture & Interior Architecture Scholarship 

The M+H Scholarship will annually award one $5,000 scholarship to a student studying architecture or interior design at an NAAB-accredited school of Architecture or a CIDA-accredited Interior Design program.  

Eligibility: 

- Must be enrolled in an NAAB accredited school of Architecture 

- Must be in their third, fourth or fifth year of school 

- Must have a permanent address in the St. Louis metropolitan region

Hatch Library & Communications Assistant  

The Hatch Library Assistant provides the first point of contact for patrons of the Hatch Resource Center and completes various tasks related to the operations of a multi-faceted learning resource center, reading room, and assisting the ArcD Communications team.

At this time, we are looking for applicants who will be available for the following shifts this semester:

Populous Co-Op Spring Internship  

Applications for the Populous Spring Co-Op Internship Program are officially open. 

The co-op program will run from January through April and provides students with the opportunity to work alongside other design professionals to create memorable places where people love to be together. 

Positions are available for the following disciplines: Architecture, Interior Design/Interior Architecture, Graphic Design

Through interviews with artists, designers, publishers, and curators, it highlights the voices shaping this movement and the grassroots networks sustaining it—an essential guide for anyone passionate about print and authentic storytelling.

The Hatch Reading Room, on the 4th floor of Marvin Hall, is here for you to de-stress, work on projects, take a break to read, and enjoy a quiet view of campus. Hours: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday. 📚
