GVSU Graduate Student Survey: The GVSU Graduate School and Graduate Student Association (GSA) are seeking feedback on graduate education to help guide strategic planning. The anonymous survey takes about 10 minutes, and participants can enter a separate drawing for a GVSU swag bag. Your input will help improve the graduate student experience.
Treetops Collective Volunteering Opportunity: Join The Graduate School for a volunteer event on Monday, March 17, 2025, from 12–2 p.m. at 906 Division Ave S, Grand Rapids. Support Treetops Collective's mission to empower New American women by helping with cleaning, paint touch-ups, and organizational tasks. Volunteers will also tour the facility and learn about the organization. Don't miss this chance to give back and connect!

Seeking Faculty Award Nominations for The Graduate School Citations for Academic Excellence: The Graduate Student Association is seeking nominations from graduate students who will graduate in Winter 2025 or Spring/Summer 2025 for graduate faculty members who have made an impact on them throughout their time at GVSU. The three awards seeking nominations are the Kimboko Inclusion Award, the Outstanding Mentorship Award, and the Outstanding Graduate Teaching Award. All nominations with completed forms must be completed by the end of the day on March 24, 2025. Submit your nominations today!
Winter 2025 Graduate Showcase: The Graduate Showcase is an event highlighting outstanding projects completed by graduate students at GVSU, taking place on Tuesday, April 15. Graduate students graduating in Winter 2025 or Spring/Summer 2025 are encouraged to connect with their Graduate Program Director or Faculty Advisor to be considered for nomination. All nominations must be approved and submitted by the Graduate Program Director by Monday, March 31.
3-Minute Thesis Competition: The 3-Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition, now in its tenth year, brought together 10 graduate student participants on February 25. Ruth Yeboah (Communications) took first place with her presentation, "Africanism in America: Exploring Hybrid Identities of African Students in the U.S." and will represent GVSU at the regional 3MT competition in April. Renée Tardani (Biology) earned second place, while Eric Opoku (Data Science & Analytics), Kaylynne Dennis (Biology), and Leya Shekanena (Higher Education) tied for third. The People’s Choice Awards went to Kenta Abe (Public Health) and Ruth Yeboah.
