Volunteer opportunities at the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Center/Institute are all patient- focused. Volunteers are needed Monday through Friday 7:00am – 4:00pm. Our volunteers include professionals, service club members, homemakers, students and retirees. Please see below for requirements of becoming a volunteer: · All volunteers must complete 200 hours · We do not offer, shadowing or research opportunities, ONLY volunteering. You are not allowed to ask staff or physicians for shadowing or research opportunities.
All volunteers must provide proof of: -Covid-19 vaccination -TB (within the last three months) -flu vaccines (annually) -Immunization Record

The Michigan State College of Veterinary Medicine is hosting their annual Veterinary Education Day on March 25, 2023 from Noon to 4:00PM. Attendees may attend in person or virtually. MCAT Tutoring -- FREE OUWB Pre-Med MCAT Tutoring
The American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA) at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine (OUWB) is happy to offer OU premedical students free MCAT tutoring. Through the MCAT Tutoring Program, OU students planning to take the MCAT will be paired with a current OUWB medical student to assist in studying for the MCAT. Tutors will meet with you for one hour each week to review concepts that are high yield topics on the MCAT, and you are also welcome to customize your experience by letting your tutor know if there are certain topics you would like to focus on. This program will begin in February and run through the winter semester.
