Now that spring has arrived, we bid farewell once again to our friend Orion. As we continue our trek around the Sun, Orion inches closer to Sun in the sky. By mid-May, the fabled hunter is mostly below the horizon by the time dusk fades and the stars begin to make their appearance.

Dyer Brings the Moon to Main Vanderbilt Campus

This month Dr. Billy Teets visited Vanderbilt's main campus with two telescopes, giving students a chance to explore the night sky up close and learn a little astronomy. Students gazed at the Moon and Jupiter and even snapped their own photos of the night sky.

This summer, Dyer Observatory is opening its doors to young scientists-in-the-making with Friday workshops packed with discovery and fun. Aimed at sparking curiosity in space and science, these sessions will feature hands-on experiments and model-making.
