Parking Disruptions
Effective June 26, 2023
The campus will experience a number of parking related impacts beginning Monday, June 26, 2023 in support of two construction projects - solar panel installations and the Art Sculpture Lab Replacement project.
Please note the following disruptions to parking structures, adjacent lots, and pedestrian access:
Parking Structure 3 and Adjacent Lots
- The 5th and 6th floors of Parking Structure 3 will be closed to all vehicles. Both floors are anticipated to reopen on or before August 23, 2023.
- Lot 12, on the north side of Parking Structure 3, will be fenced off and closed to all vehicles, except construction related vehicles and material until August 23, 2023.
Parking Structure 5 and Adjacent Lots
- The 5th and 6th floors of Parking Structure 5 will be closed to all vehicles. Both floors are anticipated to reopen to vehicles on or before August 23, 2023.
- Lot 1C, on the south side of Parking Structure 5, will be fenced off and closed to all vehicles, except construction related vehicles and material until August 23, 2023.
- Pedestrian access along the southern edge of Parking Structure 5 will be limited to distinct areas to allow for safe entry and exit. Most pedestrian traffic will be routed to the side of the Athletic Center, or the plaza at the Welcome Center.
Parking Lot 7 and USGS Parking Area
- A portion of Parking Lot 7 will be closed for the duration of the Art Sculpture Lab Replacement project, as shown on the site map, with perimeter shown as red line.
- The USGS parking area will be accessible only from the State University Drive approach (#8 on site map available here).
- This area will be impacted until August 2024, when new parking along Jed Smith Drive will be re-opened for staff and faculty parking.
Any vehicle parked within these areas will be cited and towed beginning at 7am on Monday, June 26, 2023 at the owner’s expense. Students, faculty, staff and visitors that use these areas to park their vehicles are encouraged to park on other floors of both parking garages and in adjacent lots.
All areas of impact will be re-opened by the dates specified above, though some intermittent closure of small, and distinct, areas may be ongoing. A map highlighting all areas of closure is available
here. Signage and fencing at key areas will be placed to assist with wayfinding and notification of closure during the period of work.
