Teacher of the Month- April 2022

In cooperation with the Mayor's office and City Council, the Rotary Club of Okla. City recognizes an outstanding teacher in our community.
Cynthia Johnson received a bachelor’s degree in speech pathology from Oklahoma Christian University and a master’s degree in Elementary Education from UCO. Cynthia is a third and fourth grade Special Education/Autism teacher at Nichols Hills Enterprise Elementary
She volunteers in the community in many ways including, organizing and participating in the Annual Autism Walk for the past 14 years; serving as a volunteer coach for Special Olympics Track and Field Activities; organizing and assisting the annual school supply giveaway. She also volunteers as a song leading coach through a Leadership Training for Christ program.
Cynthia serves as an Education Advisory member at Oklahoma Christian University. In this role she meets with incoming teachers or individuals who are thinking about entering the teaching profession.
Cynthia is passionate about student success in the classroom, especially students who are serviced in the self-contained special education setting and student who struggle with understanding grade-level content. She believes teachers must use methods to bridge the gap for students with disabilities and create classroom experiences geared towards higher-level intellectual processes.

April is Membership Month!

So, why membership and the importance of nominating members? For those who have been with club many years, you might be familiar with the phrase, “members are the lifeblood of our organization.” While still true, the Membership Recruitment committee has a new phrase to keep in mind this month. April embodies spring and a time of growth. So, this month, we ask you to remember that “When we grow more, we can do more!”
More fellowship.

More ideas and project connections.

More impact in our community.

More opportunities for our fellow business and community leaders share the ideal of service of self.

Again, “when we grow more, we can do more.”
