A new academic year is upon us, and I'm proud to formally unveil Claim Our Space, Colorado College's strategic plan for 2025-2030.
The plan is the culmination of community-wide input, including several campus and alumni surveys, recommendations from Project 2024, and recent divisional strategic plans. I am grateful to everyone who helped shape this shared direction, and to those who will bring it to life in the years ahead with renewed clarity on our institutional trajectory.
None of us need reminding that higher education is under real pressure. It is imperative that we are agile and future focused as we navigate the landscape we compete in today. Meeting this moment requires each of us to answer the call and to make our value evident.
We know what Colorado College offers is unique. Our academic model produces students who go deep instead of skimming the surface. Our location means downtown and the Rockies are classrooms, not field trips. And in choosing careers that center people, our alums carry the purpose of a liberal arts education into the world.

Claim Our Space is a comprehensive commitment. We will strengthen CC from the inside out by supporting our people, advancing our academic excellence, enriching our student experience, and building the systems and relationships that support our future. Beyond campus, we'll tell our story with precision and reach, so prospective students and their families, alumni, employers, and the wider world understand all that Colorado College and its graduates offer.
The strategic plan is organized around four focus areas: Institutional Strength, Reclaiming the Liberal Arts, Deepening Engagement, and Excellence in Outcomes. Together they provide a foundation, with room to adapt as new opportunities and challenges emerge.

Over the coming years, the work of the College will be grounded in our strategic plan. On this site, you'll find details about each focus area, divisional plans and operational tactics to achieve our objectives, and stories that illustrate Claim Our Space initiatives already underway. We'll also use the site to share our progress: milestones met, work still ahead, and how our priorities evolve along the way.
Together, we will ensure Colorado College claims its space. Thank you for the role you play in making this plan more than words on a page.
