Get Ready to Ignite Campus Spirit with Opening Convocation

Join us as we come together as a campus community to embark on the 2024-25 academic year at Opening Convocation 2024, taking place in Shove Memorial Chapel, Mon., Aug. 26, at 9 a.m.

This year's Opening Convocation heralds CC’s 150th academic year and serves as the First Mondays presentation for Block 1. Come welcome the Class of 2028 and meet the 2024 inspiring Just World Award recipients.

The Just World Awards include:

Mike Edmonds Igniting Students’ Potential Award
Dr. Margaret A. Liu ’77 Health Justice Award
Ken Salazar ’77 Stewardship Award
Adrienne Lanier Seward Bold and Courageous Actions Award
Val Veirs Environmental Justice Award

Faculty members wishing to march in the Opening Convocation ceremony must register no later than Friday, Aug. 23. Contact Jessica Kolke at the bookstore for all regalia orders.

After the ceremony, students and faculty will convene for the first day of classes, which begin at 10:30 a.m.
