MARCH 2023

FROM THE PARENT PROGRAM DIRECTOR

I have to start with a huge THANK YOU! You made Giving Day 2023 a success. Our parent goal for donors was 150, and you crushed it! No matter how big or small the gift, it makes a difference in the lives of our students and the experience they have at Lipscomb.
I hope your student had a wonderful spring break either at home with family or off enjoying time with friends. Spring is a beautiful time on Lipscomb’s campus. We love seeing the students outside studying, hanging out, playing games and hammocking.
One of our biggest spring events, Singarama, is happening at the end of the month. Check out the details below, and we hope to see you soon on campus!
Go Bisons!

FAFSA

For your student to be considered for maximum financial aid for next school year, please complete the 23-24 FAFSA at studentaid.gov. Please note, Tennessee residents cannot receive the Tennessee HOPE Scholarship without completing the FAFSA. If you have questions, contact the Lipscomb University Financial Aid office at 615.966.1791 or financialaid@lipscomb.edu.

SECURITY DEPARTMENT

Lipscomb University Security has a new home in the basement of Sewell Residence Hall, just inside the entrance under the big purple awning facing Bison Square. The main administrative office operates Monday-Friday 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., but don’t worry, officers and dispatchers still work 24-7/365 to help ensure the safety of your student(s) and are available by dialing 615-966-7600 or 7600 from an on-campus landline phone.
For now, Lipscomb ID and vehicle registration services will continue to operate out of the secondary location in the basement of Beaman Library. We also encourage your student (and you!) to download our free Lipscomb Ready app to receive push notifications about weather events, campus safety situations, and any other critical information that affects our community. The app also provides other services that could be helpful for a student’s Lipscomb experience such as a virtual Bison Safety Walk, quick access to emergency contact information, and support resources. Click on the QR code below to download the app.
**Please note that notifications must be enabled in your phone settings and the app’s permissions.**

CAMPUS NEWS

Purchase Singarama tickets!
SINGARAMA 2023: March 30 - April 1
You don’t want to miss Singarama and the events surrounding it this year. Singarama is one of Lipscomb’s longest-running traditions. It’s written, choreographed, designed and produced all by students! Participants are divided into three shows, provided a theme and expected to write, stage and choreograph a 25-minute show. These shows go head-to-head to see who will be the overall Sweepstakes winner. We would love for you to join us this year in celebrating Singarama and all the hard work our students put into the show! Purchase Singarama tickets.
April 1 Singarama Family Dinner
Also, don’t miss our Singarama Family Dinner on April 1, 5 - 6:30 p.m. in the East Wing Reception Area of Beaman Library! The Alumni and Parent Engagement office will host a dinner for families between the April 1 Singarama shows. Your student will be busy preparing for the show, so join us for dinner from Martin's BBQ (a local favorite), learn about the history of Singarama from former executive producer Sarah Keith Gamble and visit the Concrete Poetry Exhibit created by Lipscomb students.
Cost is $10 per personClick here to register by March 29 to attend the dinner.
