Job Opening Spotlight

Do you know someone who is passionate about student development, fraternity/sorority life, and event planning? A Leadership Development & Fraternity/Sorority Coordinator position is open at Colorado College. This person will provide primary oversight for two intersectional, functional areas,  and supports general projects and operations in the Office of Campus Activities which oversees student orientation, student events/programming, and supports student government operations. See this posting and more on the CC Careers website and share with anyone who might be interested.

Photo Contest

Capturing the employee experience at CC is challenging due to the variety of roles and experiences the members of our community have. To help us better illustrate the breadth of what it means to work at CC, the HR department is having a campus-wide photo contest, open to all staff and faculty. To enter, fill in this form and upload a photo that represents highlights from your employee experience at CC. The winning photo, chosen by a team of judges, will be featured in an upcoming People Connections newsletter. The photographer of the winning photo will receive a prize from the HR department - more details to follow after the contest.

Supporting New Employees through CC New

During their first week, new staff members are invited to participate in an online orientation program called CC New. These modules provide a valuable overview of benefits, campus resources, and getting oriented to key processes on campus.
New full-time employees are also eligible to participate in the new hire Ambassador program, where they are paired with someone outside of their department to support their acclimation to campus. Learn more about the Ambassador program or volunteer to be an ambassador.
About once a month, HR hosts the CC New: Seek and Find. New employees are invited to participate in this event where they will engage in team building activities with other new employees, meet existing staff members, and get to practice navigating our beautiful campus.
In collaboration with many campus partners, we invite new employees to join us for CC Connect on August 18. This bi-annual event is a wonderful way for new employees to build the relationships that will help them thrive at CC and connect with the college’s senior leadership. All staff hired after July 1, 2022 will be sent an invitation to register for this event. Incoming faculty will also be invited to participate.
Please support new members of your teams participating in these events and programs so they can meet other people on campus and learn about CC.

Reminder to take vacation

We all need time to recharge! Please check your leave balances and talk to your supervisor about taking some time off this summer. Supervisors, please check in on your supervisees’ leave balances and encourage them to take some time off this summer for a positive work-life balance.

Benefits Updates

Pregnancy Accommodations
CC already considers reasonable requests for accommodations by pregnant workers, and now the Federal government recognizes this need through the recently passed Pregnant Workers Fairness Act. Any CC employee who is pregnant and requires accommodation to perform their duties should contact the Office of Human Resources
Employees who are nursing and need to express milk are granted time specifically for that purpose. A portion of that time may be paid. The Children’s Center is the designated location for expressing milk. Contact the Children’s Center at 719-389-6764 to reserve space. For all questions regarding these policies, contact the Office of Human Resources.

Sick Leave Policy Update
