Oh Class of 2026,

The time has come for us to pick a commencement speaker. I wanted to make this email so entertaining, but my thesis is calling. Loudly. So I'm going to keep it short.

Below you'll find a timeline and some to-do's. Have questions, comments, musings? Feel free to send me an email.

To-Do:

  • Submit suggestions to this form by Thursday, September 11th at 5pm (keep 'em realistic, perhaps--we have a $0 budget for payment)
  • Attend a quick 30 minute meeting Tuesday, September 9th at 3:15pm in the Student Event Space to brainstorm, ask questions about the process, and maybe even get a quick snack.
  • Keep an eye out for the ranked-choice form, going out Friday, September 12th at 9am.

More timeline:

In a general sense, this is how this process will move.

  • Suggestions will be collected from the entire senior class
  • Seniors on CCSGA will hone The List (basically just take out any unrealistic options)
  • The entire senior class will rank their top choices
  • CCSGA will send the top 7 to the College's Academic Events Committee, who will make a recommendation to the President's Office (not mine, Manya's) by the end of Block 3
  • The President's Office will make a decision sometime in Block 6.

Feeling weird about how empty Tony's was last night,

Royce Hinojosa

Student Body President
