It was wonderful to see so many of you in Athens for Sibs Weekend! I hope you had the chance to reconnect with your student, explore campus and enjoy the weekend’s activities. If you’re looking for another opportunity to visit, Moms Weekend is just around the corner, happening April 4-6.
As the semester continues, please remind your student that Basic Needs resources are available to support them. From emergency microgrants, to the food pantry, to mental health care financial support, we want to ensure they have everything they need to thrive.

Students are invited to showcase Bobcat life through Ohio University's social media accounts in OHIO's new ambassador program! Bobcat Creators will provide ideas to Ohio University’s Social Media Team for content to be created (including social media trend suggestions), appear in content and create content themselves. The deadline to apply is February 23, and it's open to all undergraduate students.

Has your student watched instructor-recorded videos for class? OHIO is reviewing tools that support video and interactive features, and student feedback can help shape the future of how they learn! Students can take a quick seven-question survey by Feb. 23 to help us get started with the Lecture Capture Evaluation Project.

OHIO’s Center for Community Engagement is seeking applicants for Community-Based Internships for Summer 2025. This program connects students to nonprofit and public sector organizations. Apply by Feb. 23.

If your student wants to participate in the 2025-26 room selection process they must submit their housing contract and deposit no later than February 26 at 4 p.m.
If they are not required to reside on campus next year but want to, they will need to complete the housing contract and submit the $200 housing deposit no later than February 26 at 4 p.m. The Upperclass Student Contract will not be available after that date.

Has your student ever wanted to see what other residence halls have to offer prior to selecting their room next month? Have them join us for an open house viewing of available second-year residence halls. The students who attend will be entered to win a chance to select their room early in priority room selection! As we progress into the semester amid the reality of cold and flu season, don't forget about the campus and local resources that are available to help keep your student healthy. OhioHealth Campus Care provides a wide range of health services and the University regularly collaborates with external health providers too.

There's still plenty of events to celebrate Black History Month. Students can attend a keynote, lunch and panel centered around Inclusive Health and Stigma Reduction for LGBTQ+ Communities or catch a Heroes in Color screening at the Athena Cinema.

Mosaic is a supportive group that meets every other Monday to share resources, offer peer support and discuss strategies for overcoming accessibility barriers. Students can join in whether they're seeking advice or looking to connect with others.
