As we head into the last stretch of the semester, I know this can be a particularly stressful time for many of our students. With exams approaching, world events weighing on our minds, and the upcoming elections, it’s important that your student prioritizes their mental health and well-being. It’s okay to feel overwhelmed — and remind them of the resources available to them. Counseling and Psychological Services is always here for your student, whether they need someone to talk to, support managing stress, or guidance on how to cope with election anxiety.
With Halloween just around the corner, I also want to remind everyone that Bobcats look out for one another. While Halloween celebrations in Athens are not University-sponsored, we know they’re a big part of the student experience. Review Housing rules (guest registration is closed), encourage your student to be mindful when planning their costumes and remind them of resources like CATS Late Night Transit and our campus safety programs.
I hope to see some of you on campus in a few weeks for Dads Weekend, and I hope you'll join us that Sunday morning for Pancakes with the President.
I’m proud of all the hard work your student has put in so far, and I’m here to support them in finishing the semester strong.
