Update From the President's Cabinet

As we continue to prioritize mental health and wellness on campus, we would like to share our progress with you.
The mental health and wellness task force completed their work in May and have handed in their recommendations. We received some excellent feedback and recommendations to further our mental health and wellness commitment.
In addition to these recommendations, Rankin Climate -  a leader in institutional experiential climate assessment and helping build climates that allow all community members to thrive - completed their evaluation and have provided us an extensive review of CC’s communications, resources, and supports surrounding mental health and well-being.
Our new Vice President for Student Life and Dean of Students, Lacy Karpilo, started full-time on campus last week. Her experience, skills, and education in psychology will serve CC’s students well. Bringing a counseling background to her new role, Karpilo will be working closely with the Wellness Center and the President’s Cabinet in creating a culture of mental wellness.
The next steps for cabinet will be reviewing the recommendations from the mental health and wellness task force and the Rankin Climate report to identify short-, medium-, and long-term action items while also conducting an updated mental health and wellness resource assessment across campus.
