Congratulations to Tonya Walker for her selection as June's COS Ace Award recipient. Tonya serves COS grad students as the Academic Program Coordinator II. 

A record $43 million in research funding for the College of Sciences brings us to the top at UCF. The $18 million increase from last year empowers us to unleash even more of our collective potential.

Two new grants will further the impact of the Department of Chemistry's radiochemistry program and contribute to filling the national demand for more nuclear chemists. 

A new $1.4 million grant equips UCF RESTORES to expand REACT, a program that will offer suicide prevention training to over 300 first responders. 

Research on fluid dynamics, which impacts everything from airplane turbulence to ocean currents, earned Mathematics Professor Bhimsen Shivamoggi the Fluid Dynamics Research Prize for 2023.

In recognition of his extensive research on semiconductor-based mode-locked laser diodes, Pegasus Professor Peter Delfyett was inducted into the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

Thanks to the Marine Turtle Research Group, a sea turtle found tangled in fishing monofilament was rescued and taken to rehabilitation.
