Scott MacLellan and the River Soul Movement: aimed at helping families struggling with the addiction of a loved one.
A 42-year veteran of the healthcare industry, Scott has led multi-billion-dollar organizations as CEO for the last 25 years. He has published 7 books, including The Ancient Ladder. He’s currently the executive producer of an upcoming streaming series based on his new ministry, the River Soul Movement.
Scott is the husband of 40 years to Deborah, the father of two grown daughters, and the grandfather to three grandsons. They live in the low country of South Carolina. He and Deborah were founding members of Alpharetta Presbyterian Church, the new church development that Guy started right out of seminary.
Scott’s latest book, An Acre of Fools will launch on September 16th and is already #1 as a Hot New Release on Amazon based on pre-orders alone. This book is a fictional account inspired by the author’s own life story, which explores the question whether you can fight evil without becoming evil yourself. The MacLellan family endured 17 years of a very serious illness of their daughter, who later became addicted to the painkillers and descended into 13 years of hardcore addiction. Scott descended into his own hellish predicament, balancing the biblical call to love his enemies while seeking to protect his daughter from the drug dealers who brought her deeper into addiction. The book is a thriller that explores themes of revenge, redemption, and forgiveness.
Scott will be teaching via Zoom in the Covenant Class.
