We at ejazzlines are focused on building the available jazz repertoire for bands the world over & jazz education remains at the center of our existence. We are always working to be sure that there is important, interesting, and challenging music out there. We feel that what we have to offer the educational world for the 2025-2026 school year is the best & deepest catalog we have ever presented.
Having options for new music is always of importance, and this summer we offer choices ranging from the contemporary music of Christine Jensen to that of European jazz master Florian Ross. We also have the entire 2025 Essentially Ellington collection of arrangements, featuring newly available music from the Ellington Orchestra as well as that of luminary Gerry Mulligan. We have new releases of the music of Dave Brubeck as interpreted for big band by one of jazz's great bands, the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra. We also have the entire catalog of 2015 new issues from Alfred Music, including new works from Gordon Goodwin and Alan Baylock.
Our Jazz Lines Publications imprint brings newly available historic jazz from great names to the world every month. This month we have two from Peggy Lee; her version of Jingle Bells as well as Nelson Riddle's The Man I Love. The latter has a fabulous backstory; please click on the title to read it. We also just published a re-edited/-engraved version of Stanley Turrentine's Sugar as arranged by Bob Florence for his band. Plus we have the Gershwins' Strike Up the Band as arranged by the inimitable-and always intimidating!-Rob McConnell.
We have a great new take on Blue Skies from Sherisse Rogers's Project Uprising (LATE NOTE: we just added three more from Sherisse, and they are VERY cool-check them out within August pages). We also have two more from Brandon Moore, whose charts are always thoughtful, unique, & challenging, including a new take on After You've Gone.
We now have the B flat version of New Standards: 101 Lead Sheets by Women Composers. Compiled/edited by Terri Lynn Carrington, this is an invaluable resource for teachers, musicians, & students everywhere wanting to greatly expand their jazz horizons. Please click here for both editions of this fabulous book.
Amidst our massive collection of PDF downloadable music, we have many new ones from Hal Leonard, Kendor & Excelcia the last two months, including new music from Michele Fernández, Mark Taylor, Ellen Rowe, Kris Berg, Mike Tomaro, John Wasson, Greg Yasinitsky, Doug Beach & many more--please just scroll through August and July new release pages to see them all.
For schools looking to build libraries, our PDF download selection now consists of over 6,500 total titles, ranging from original charts from Ellington & Basie to Sinatra & Ella to Oliver Nelson, Benny Carter, Supersax, Mary Lou Williams, Bird, Diz, & dozens more of the biggest names, to so many of the great jazz arrangers of recent decades, & to new releases from all over the jazz publishing world today. Featuring works like Take Five, Blue Rondo a la Turk, and The Duke, this is both a wonderful set of charts as well as a great educational experience through the mind of one of jazz's most important & creative thinkers.

The 2025 Essentially Ellington Series from Jazz at Lincoln Center

This carefully-planned series of charts is used every year for the annual competition of high school bands that takes place at Lincoln Center in New York City, & each year the charts become another pillar in the solidifying edifice of classic jazz publications. The 2025 Essentially Ellington Series is no different.
This year they were split between the Ellington Orchestra and the pen of the eternally creative Gerry Mulligan, with the latter also featuring music from the Elliot Lawrence Orchestra.
