Shaila (SYA France) reflects on her first independent trip, which deepened both her self-assurance and her friendships, while Tito (SYA Italy) remembers feeling nervous early in the year but, with the encouragement of his English teacher, found comfort and a sense of belonging.
These transformative moments are enriched by the mentorship of our dedicated faculty, the support of host families and the generosity of our donors. The funds raised to support the experience ensure that more students can embark on this life-changing journey, forging meaningful relationships and gaining a deeper understanding of the world.

| Tom Hassan Set to Retire in 2026
|
On January 30, 2025, President Tom Hassan announced his plans to retire at the end of the 2025-2026 academic year, allowing the Board of Trustees ample time to conduct a full and thorough international search for our next President.
Board Chair Holland Goss Lynch FR'86 said, "Tom’s tenure has been characterized by his mission-driven leadership, his grace under pressure and his commitment to excellence at all levels of SYA."
