Fall Internship / Read the Trades / News Director Meetup
I* saw the below listing for a remote fall internship in the Anonymous PA newsletter. Not sure how many hours a week it's for, and we might be too far into the semester for anyone to add more to your plate anyway. But I also wanted to highlight to convey the point that the film festival / script contest world in general is a good place to look for internships and volunteer work. Festival organizers always need help with vetting submissions, and it's also great way to get a good sense of the current state of filmmaking and to make networking connections.

Speaking of productive things you can do with your free time if you want to work in the industry: read the trades! If you don't know what that means, first read this post from the Hollywood Assistant newsletter, and then read this guide to reading the trades that I* put together. Outside of networking and watching as many movies and TV shows as you have time for, there's nothing better you can do to prepare yourself for an entertainment career than regularly reading the trades.
