From public health and safety to housing, environmental services, and economic development, county staff play a critical role in meeting the needs of residents.
“Orange County is proud of the wide range of programs and services we provide to our residents,” said Board of Commissioners Chair Jean Hamilton. “Our ability to serve this community depends on the expertise, compassion, and commitment of our staff. Their work touches every aspect of daily life—from protecting public health to supporting families and fostering economic opportunity—and we are grateful for the difference they make each day.”
Since 1991, the National Association of Counties (NACo) has encouraged counties across the country to raise public awareness about county roles, responsibilities, and services during the month of April. NCGM provides an opportunity for counties to tell their story and highlight how local government delivers critical services that residents rely on.
Throughout the month, Orange County will share stories highlighting the employees who work every day to build a stronger, healthier, and more resilient community. Residents are encouraged to follow along and learn more about the many ways Orange County serves them.
