Riding Shotgun: Midwest WNCY/Appleton-Green Bay, WI morning host Randy "Shotgun" Shannon has been named PD/MD. The move follows the October departure of Brand Mgr. Dan Stone (CAT 9/25) and the August departure of MD Charli McKenzie (CAT 6/24). Shannon has had two stints with WNCY, first as PD from 1996-2006, then returning in 2012, with morning radio jobs in Denver and San Antonio in between. Reach him here. |

A Better Man: Charlie Handsome was named Songwriter of the Year at last night's (11/18) 73rd annual BMI Country Awards in Nashville. “I Had Some Help,” performed by Post Malone featuring Morgan Wallen and written by Handsome, Hoskins, Ernest Keith Smith, Wallen and Chandler Paul Walters, was named Song of the Year. Publisher went to Warner-Tamerlane Publishing, which published 32 of the year's 50 most-performed songs. As previously reported, Clint Black was honored with the BMI Icon Award (CAT 10/14). Portlandia: Connoisseur KUPL/Portland, OR is seeking a live and local morning show to succeed Premiere's The Bobby Bones Show, which has aired on KUPL since 2020 (CAT 4/23/20). Additionally, sister WWWF/Nassau-Suffolk personality Kelly Ford is now tracking KUPL nights in place of YEA Media Group's The Greg Beharrell Show, which was added in mid-August (CAT 8/4).
"In a perfect world, we will find a show that already exists that is interested in moving to Portland and being a part of what we are building," says Connoisseur SVPP Keith Dakin of the morning opening. "Small market, medium market, out of work shows – tell them to send their stuff!" Apply here.

Company You Keep: Zoellner Media KWEN/Tulsa midday host Caitlin Fisher, who had been tracking the shift out of Top 40 WAPE/Jacksonville (CAT 1/2), signed off Oct. 10. Fisher works for former KWEN owner Cox, so her departure follows KWEN's recent ownership change, as do the departures of two Cox-employed weekend trackers: Atlanta-based Abby Jessen and San Antonio-based Jenny Law. For now, Dir./Branding & Programming and morning host Matt Bradley is on the air from 5:30am to noon, and APD/afternoon personality Karla Cantrell from noon to 7pm. Bradley is seeking a new morning co-host with at least two years of on-air experience. Apply here.

Most played country songs are "High Road" (Koe Wetzel & Jessie Murph), "Liar" (Jelly Roll), "I'm The Problem" and "Love Somebody" (both Wallen) and "This Heart" (Corey Kent). Among the company's most played overall artists, Wallen is No. 1, Post Malone No. 9 and Shaboozey No. 10.
