Dean's Note

This month, we launched the Center for Global Democracy, which will pioneer innovative research on democratic politics around the world. The center is an expansion of our LAPOP Lab, which for two decades has produced groundbreaking research that has influenced policy decisions all over Latin America. Building on this work, now with a new global focus, the center will conduct research and analysis that will help promote democracy worldwide. The new center supports Global Vanderbilt, the university’s effort to enhance our international presence and perspective. By extending the reach of our research, pursuing international collaborations, gaining international perspectives, and expanding students’ learning opportunities, we can increase the positive impact we are making on the world.
