Mathew Kerbis to Speak at ABA TECHSHOW
|
|
Mathew Kerbis ‘07 will speak at the American Bar Association TECHSHOW, which runs from March 1-4 in Chicago. A new faculty member and speaker for the American Bar Association, he will be presenting on legal services and law in the Metaverse. Mathew frequently speaks to prospective and pre-law students and engages in one-on-one mentoring with new lawyers. He also performs regularly with the Chicago Bar Show. Alumnus Uses Comedy to Share Struggles and Promote Treatment
|
|
Yash Hatkar ‘16 will perform his stand-up routine on Saturday, March 25 at Chicago’s Davis Theater. The 7 PM show will be preceded by a mental health panel discussion featuring experts from organizations like the National Alliance on Mental Illness. Seeking an outlet to explore issues like mental health, Yash was inspired to try stand-up after seeing a performance by comedian John Mulaney, who addresses personal struggles in his act. Sonika Jalem Elected President of Illinois Junior Classical League
|
|
SHS Junior Sonika Jalem was recently elected President of the Illinois Junior Classical League (ILJCL) during its 2023 Convention in Itasca, IL. Sonika, the first Patriot to ever hold the position, took part in the annual academic conference and competition alongside fellow members of Stevenson’s Latin Club. The ILJCL aims to foster an appreciation and understanding of the ancient civilizations of Greece and Rome and promote the study of the classics in the modern world.

SHS Chess Team Crowned State Champions
|
|
For the third time in recent years, Stevenson's Chess Team won the IHSA State Championship. The Patriots topped 128 teams at the Peoria Civic Center earlier this month. "I am very fortunate to work with such exceptional students. They exemplify good sportsmanship and leadership, which matches their great chess skill," shared head coach Vincent Springer. The team included seniors Stella Pashyan, Kurinji Shivakumar, Rohit Guha, and Srihas Rao. Click here for more highlights.

Alumnus Climbs Seven Summits, Volcanic Seven Summits
