| Why Should I Review My Position Description? |
Is your position description up to date? Here’s why it matters. The annual position description review provides an opportunity for employees and supervisors to review (and update, if needed) the essential functions of a position to ensure the duties are accurate, reflect current responsibilities, and align with departmental goals. Completing an annual review helps make job expectations clear to the employee and ensures everyone is on the same page. It also helps both employees and supervisors stay up to date with any changes in job duties.
How does it work? The employee should begin the review process by assessing current duties and responsibilities before meeting with their supervisor for their annual performance review (PRD). The supervisor will assess and validate the position description, noting any updates to duties, qualifications, and expectations based on any changes in job requirements or team needs. Questions? Please contact FMHR@umd.edu.

FM Behind the Wheel: Cool, Calm, and Safe |
If road closures, detours, and changing traffic patterns have you ready to pull your hair out, you’re not alone. A combination of construction projects and new lanes/traffic patterns designed to accommodate micro-mobility devices and pedestrians has made getting around campus challenging for everyone. While we can’t control the construction on campus, we can be prepared and adjust our driving to make navigating smoother, safer, and less stressful. We encourage all FM drivers to stay calm, take it slow, and drive with extra caution. Allow a little extra time to get to your destination and check the Division of Administration website for upcoming closures

and detours, as well as the CRC’s Service Impacts list. By being prepared, patient, and alert, we can all help keep campus safe and manageable for everyone.
