Rising from the Ashes: A BYM Programmed Meeting Toward Connection and Repair of the Harms of Racism, Dec 3rd
Friends will gather on December 3rd to acknowledge and honor the pain of racism experienced by Friends of Color within our Yearly Meeting, to help White Friends see their complicity in that pain, and to take the next steps on the road to repair of our beloved community. The programmed agenda will include silent and spoken worship, music, movement and body practices, deep listening, and the sharing of Testimonies of Complicity. We expect to end on a gathered commitment to next bold steps in living into being an anti-racist faith community.

Finding a Third Way with Veterans
In honor of Veteran's Day, Friends may enjoy this 2015 Friend's Journal essay. Friend Andy Henry reflects on the ministry of Jesus and suggests that the realities of moral injury, faced by many veterans, call Quakers to a ministry of soul repair. Friends can read more about the emerging psychological and pastoral understanding of moral injury here and here.

Annual Session Bookstore Seeks Books & Vendors!

In 2023, the Annual Session Bookstore will offer a Used Book Section. To help with gathering books, Friends are asked to search your shelves for new or like new books. You can bring them to any Interim Meeting or drop them by the BYM Office. The Bookstore is also in search of 2023 vendors, including things we’ve had in the past (quilted items, pottery, cultural items, independently published materials, etc.) and all the crafts you may have developed during our time away from Annual Session for the last several years.
