Moores Members Demonstrate Breast Cancer Drug Efficacy for Rare Appendix Cancer

Moores Members Andrew Lowy, MD and Shumei Kato, MD are co-senior authors of a publication featured in the Journal of Clinical Oncology that reveals the ability of a breast cancer drug to stabilize tumor growth and reduce blood tumor marker levels in patients with peritoneal mucinous carcinomatosis. This medication provides a new alternative to chemotherapy for patients presenting this rare and often difficult to treat cancer. Learn More >>

H. Irene Su, MD, MSCE, is the Associate Director of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion at Moores; as well as a Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences, in the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility. She is Program Director for the Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility Fellowship, and Director of the Oncofertility Program at UC San Diego.
