Fort Worth Inc. has released The 400, its list of the most influential people in the city, and UTA made its presence known. Twenty-eight Mavericks—including UTA President Jennifer Cowley—were named to this year’s list.

A UTA professor and members of the Parking and Transportation Services team won several awards from the International Parking and Mobility Institute for their work developing “plastic roads,” an innovative and sustainable way to build and repair roads. Plastic-infused asphalt can be found on two parking lots on campus: F10 and Lot 49. The team used four tons of recycled plastics on the areas, enough to fill 15 garbage trucks.
