CO-LS-PR-03 Chemical Safety Procedure
This procedure was reviewed as part of a routine five-year review. Processes regarding accessing CEMS were updated.
CO-UF-PO-02 Solicitations Policy
This policy was updated as part of a routine periodic review. Minor updates were made to reflect updated processes, along with updates to department names and titles. The section on 501(c)(3) organizations was removed.
EI-PO-02 Conflicts of Interest, Conflicts of Commitment, and Outside Activities Policy
This policy was updated to address foreign affiliations. Section II. C. 3. was added to include any participation in a foreign talent recruitment program. In addition, language was added in Section II. L. to include that all foreign affiliations or associations must be pre-approved and managed and that participation in a malign foreign talent recruitment program is prohibited. In addition, any other foreign affiliations or associations, including any substantial interest in a foreign business entity involving any UTA officer or employee, is prohibited unless properly preapproved and/or disclosed. Finally, the definitions for foreign affiliations and associations, foreign country of concern, foreign talent recruitment program, and malign foreign talent recruitment program were added.
GA-UA-PO-08 Interactions with Government Officials Policy
This new policy was requested by the Office of Government Relations to help UTA deliver a consistent message when interacting with government officials, avoid using state resources for lobbying or politics, and to report details of contacts with federal officials as required by law.
CO-CE-PO-05 Prohibition of Camping on University Property Policy
UTA has a robust free speech policy, which allows students, employees, and the public to engage in lawful free speech and protest in allowable areas on campus. UTA will always allow and defend our community’s right to engage in lawful free speech and assembly. As we saw at many campuses last year, some protests were not focused on speech, but rather disruption of campus operations, which in many instances created safety concerns for students and employees and damage to property. In alignment with evolving best practices and to comply with UT System policies, we’ve clarified and updated our prohibition on camping policy.
